O Book! My Books! (A mock poem of O Caption! My Caption)

O books! My Books! You have helped me so,
The adventures that we have gone on,
The tears I have shed, whether out of sad, fear, or happy,
The many hours I have spent reading til dawn;
But O why! Why! Why!
Oh the water drops from above,
The holes in the words,
A book destroyed by weather.
O Books! My Books! Take me away
To land of orcs and ogres,
To a place where dragons roam,
Or I could stay in the world, just in another place,
Here Books! Dear Literature!
The tears from the sky on your page!
Oh how horrible
A book destroyed by weather.
My book can’t be read, the words are no longer there;
My book has no life inside, the pages torn and bare;
The cover is beautiful, covered in life;
The clouds all laugh at their horrible deed
Curse O clouds, and Tremble O mere’ water,
But I, with no way of helping the torn pages,
Sit and stare at,
A book destroyed by weather.
